Mr. Danny Ray Grogan, age 66, of Cedartown, passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2016 after a lengthy illness. He was born on March 6, 1950 in Polk County. He was the son of the late Walter Louis and Edna Earle Whitton Grogan.
Mr. Grogan was born in Polk County and graduated from Cedartown High School in 1969 after which he served his country in the United States Army in Vietnam as an artillery surveyor and M16 sharpshooter. Mr. Grogan was a retired mail carrier with the United States Postal Service and a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
Mr. Grogan is survived by his son, Justin Lee Grogan; brother, Butch Grogan; sister, Beth Alexander and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In keeping with his wishes, Danny will be cremated and his remains will be buried in the family lot at Polk Memory Gardens. A graveside service will be conducted on Friday, September 16, 2016 at eleven o'clock in the morning at Polk Memory Gardens with Rev. Grady McDonald officiating and Military Rites conducted by the Brewster-Cleveland American Legion Honor Guard Post #86.
The family requests flowers to be omitted but acts of kindness or service to other veterans in his memory would be welcome.
