Mr. Cleo Lavon Bergen of Cedartown, GA, age 84, passed away Friday, August 29, 2008. He was born in Louisa County, Iowa on August 14, 1924 to the late Roy Cecil Bergen and Carrie Elizabeth Boulton Bergen. He retired from the Hon Company as a Maintenance Electrical Engineer.

Mr. Bergen is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Riebel Bergen; daughters, Polly Jane Rankins, and Zella May Musick; sons, Burdette Lavon Bergen, Allen Joe Bergen, and Kevin Roy Bergen. He has eight grandchildren that also survive.

The visitation for Mr. Bergen will be held Sunday, August 31, 2008 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be conducted on Monday, September 1, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Cedartown Georgia with Dr. David Taylor and Rev. Wayne Benefield officiating. Interment will follow in Northview Cemetery. Mr. Bergen's body will lie in state for 1 hour prior to the funeral service.

Jonathan Bergen, Daniel Rankins, Cody Rankins, Jimmy Camp, Jim Mayben, and Frank Burgess, Jr. will serve as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers are Cory Bergen, Cedartown Kiwanis Club, and Jimmy Vincent's Sunday School Class.

The family will receive flowers or donations may be made to the First Baptist Church Memorial Fund.
