Mr. Clarence Hoyt Worthington, age 92, of Cedartown, passed away on Monday, February 25th, 2019. He was born on April 26, 1926 in Cedartown, Georgia. He was the son of the late Dee and Winnie Upchurch Worthington.
Mr. Hoyt Worthington was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was an active member of First Baptist Church, Cedartown since 1956 and was a member of the L.D. Wheeler Sunday School Class. He also Mason of the Caledonia Lodge # 121, Yarab Shriner, and a member of the American Legion Brewster-Cleveland Post #186.
Mr. Worthington is survived by his sons, Dennis Worthington (Marie) and Steve Worthington; step daughters, Tina Womack (Gary) and Kim Norris; sister, Betty Moore; Grandchildren; Robert Alred (Carla), Jason Alred, Mandie Fossett (David), Morgan Worthington (Jenell), and Mitchell Worthington, (Megan); great-grandchildren, Olivia Fossett, Rachel Fossett, Lacey Worthington, Josie Worthington, Sara Alred, Brittney Alred, Brooke Alred, Christie Alred, Wyatt Alred, Anna Belle Alred, Alyssa Baird, Ashley Elkins, Chad Womack and Craig Womack.
Mr. Worthington is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mrs. Sara Worthington; daughter, Kathy Alred; and brother, William Lester Barnwell.
The funeral arrangements for Mr. Hoyt Worthington will be held on Thursday, February 28th, at one o'clock in the afternoon from the chapel of the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Benefield officiating.
The family of Mr. Worthington will receive family and friends on Wednesday, February 27 th from six o'clock in the evening until eight o'clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home.
The family respectfully request that all floral donations be omitted and that memorial contributions be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, Florida 33607.
