Mr. Christopher Varnell Barnett, age 46, of Cedartown passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2008. He was born November 14, 1962 in Floyd County, GA. Mr. Barnett was a life long resident of Cedartown where he graduated from Cedartown High School in 1980.

Family survivors include wife, Cara Blankenship Barnett; son, Christopher Varnell Barnett II; son, Harrison Payne Barnett; daughter, Kennedy Emerson Barnett; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lisa & Bill Garmon, Nikki & Kyle Huddleston. Several nieces and nephews and several aunts and uncles also survive Mr. Barnett.

Mr. Barnett was preceded in death by his parents, Vermous Varnell Barnett and Ludie Ann Winkles Barnett.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 7th, from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at The Olin L. Gammage & Sons Funeral Home.

The funeral service for Mr. Christopher Varnell Barnett will be conducted on Monday, December 8, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. at The First Baptist Church with Mr. Scott Colbert and Mr. Bill Garmon Speaking. Dr. Larry Conner will officiate. The Interment will follow in Polk Memory Gardens with Rev. Larry Ritch officiating.

Scott Colbert, Skipper Wood, Jimmy Mobley, Mike Googe, Jon Edwards, Chuck Fricks, Michael Gilmore and Chuck Bedford will serve as pallbearers.

The Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for Mr. Christopher Varnell Barnett.
