Obituary

Mrs. Charlotte Amelia Cook, age 77, of Cedartown, passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2008 after an extended illness. She was born on April 21, 1930 in Monroe, Georgia

She is preceded in death by husband, Rev. J. Shelby Cook. Prior to his death in 1993, they had celebrated forty-one years of marriage. "Mother was a wonderful wife, teacher, and mother, but she was a Preacher's wife first and foremost. She loved her crafts and shared her love with everyone in the church." lovingly writes her son, Randy.

She is also predeceased by parents, Homer Wiley and Sarah Towler Wiley; sisters, Myrtle Penland and Curtis Mitchum; brothers, Billy Wiley and Thomas Wiley.

Family survivors are daughter and son-in-law, Jeanene and William Austin and son, John Cook, Jr. and son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Judy Cook. Grandchildren, Benjamin Smith, Sabrina Smith, Adrianne Cook, David Parajon, Jacob Cook, Joshua Cook, Nora Cook, Luke Cook, Jesse Cook, and Abby Cook; great grandchild, Lillian Parajon also survive.

To carry out Mrs. Cook's personal wishes, her body was willed to Emory University School of Medicine.

A memorial service for Mrs. Charlotte Cook will be conducted on Sunday, February 10, at 3:00 p.m. at the Anna Kresge Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. James Sanders officiating.

The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m.

The family has requested that flowers be omitted. Donations may be made to Anna Kresge Memorial United Methodist Church Building Fund, 15 Booger Hollow Rd., Cedartown, GA 30125.

The Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for Mrs. Charlotte Amelia Cook.
