Mr. Charlie F. Shadrick, age 70, of Rome, formerly of Cedartown, Georgia passed away Sunday, April 19, 2009. He was born July 7, 1938 in Polk County, son of Minnie Grace Lanier Shadrick and William Walter Shadrick Sr.

Mr. Shadrick was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a December 2000 retiree of Lockheed Aeronautics Company.

He was a Reverend for the Congregational Holiness Church and had served as pastor in Jacksonville, Florida, Illinois, Alabama and Georgia.

Mr. Charlie Shadrick is survived by wife of fifty years, Mrs. Glenda F. Newsome Shadrick; children, Skip and Sue Shadrick of Anniston, Alabama, Van and Sandy Shadrick of Cedartown, Glenn and Reggie Shadrick of Orlando, Florida, and Paula Shadrick of Anniston; sister, Sarah Virginia Sides of Joliet, Illinois. Grandchildren, Cpl. William Brandon Shadrick, U. S. Army, Megan Shadrick, Tabitha Lewis, Ryan Shadrick, Zachary Higginbotham; great-grandchild, Elizabeth Raine Shadrick; a number of Nieces and Nephews also survive.

Mr. Shadrick is preceded in death by parents, Minnie Grace and William Walter Shadrick Sr.; brothers, William Walter Shadrick Jr. and Charles Van Shadrick.

The funeral service for Mr. Charlie F. Shadrick will be conducted on Friday, April 24th, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Hollis Martin and Rev. George Dugger officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Cedartown.

The U.S. Air Force Honor Guard of Robins Air Force Base will conduct military honors at the graveside.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 23rd, from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the Gammage Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Chris Wood, Greg Wood, Steven Dugger, Daryl Dugger, David Nutt, and Tony Gravett.
