Mr. Charles Mitchell York, age 97, of Cedartown, passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2015. He was born on August 14, 1917 in Midland City, Alabama. He was the son of the late John Thomas York, Sr. and Mattie Head York.

Mr. York is survived by his loving wife of 75 years, Mrs. Eugenia Pipkin York; daughter, Judy Bolton; sons, Alan York and Mickey York; five grandchildren, Chuck Bolton, Jennifer Bolton Ethridge, Amy Williams, Brian York and Eric Murray and nine great-grandchildren.

Mr. York is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Annie Bea York and brother, John T. York, Jr.

The funeral service for Mr. York will be conducted on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at one o'clock in the afternoon in the Chapel of The First Baptist Church with Dr. David Taylor and Rev. Lendon Bolton officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

The family of Mr. York will receive family and friends on Saturday, January 10, 2015 from 12:00pm till the funeral hour at The First Baptist Church.
