Mr. Charles L. Williams, age 73, of Cedartown, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2020.  He was born on July 27, 1946 in Polk County.  He was the son of the late Charlie and Emma Calhoun Williams.

Mr. Williams lived in Cedartown his whole life and was known all over town as he always walked every where he went. He worked for many people in his lifetime doing various jobs, including yard work, house work, farming and anything else they needed him to do.

Mr. Williams was very loyal to the people he worked for, he considered them as family and would even show up to work on Christmas and Thanksgiving if it was his day to work there.  Mr. Williams never met a stranger and he never had a bad thing to say about anyone and he wouldn't let you say anything bad about anyone either.  He loved college football, but unfortunately not the Georgia Bulldogs; scary movies, reading the Cedartown Standard, animals (and the animals loved him), but mostly he loved his church.  The Cedartown Congregational Holiness Church is where he helped with the Backpack ministry.  He loved going to church and he especially liked his Sunday school class; he studied his Sunday school lesson every week so he was prepared for his class.

Mr. Williams is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and by a host of very good friends.

A memorial service for Mr. Charles L. Williams will be held on Sunday, February 2, 2020 at 2:30pm at the Cedartown Congregational Holiness Church on Furnace Street in Cedartown. Rev. Wayne Smith will officiate the service.
