Mr. Charles Harry Broome, age 89, of Cedartown passed away on Sunday May 2, 2010. He was born September 10, 1920 in Cedartown Georgia.

He proudly served in the United States Army.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert C. Broome and Janie Dawson Broome; wife, Catherine Morgan Broome; sisters, Elizabeth Raiden, Gertrude Hogue, Mary Jane Maxwell, Sadie Rae Liner; brothers, Clifford Broome, Clyde Broome, J.T. Broome, James (Lefty) Broome, Bobby Broome ; and granddaughter, Cindy Rampley.

Mr. Broome is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Joan Broome Rampley & Johnny; son, Eddie Broome; grandchildren, Heidi Andrews, Jay Rampley, Chuck Broome; three great grandchildren, L. Cpl. Houston Welchel, Dustin Martin, Taylor Martin; sister and brother-in-law, Dot & John Curry; and brother and sister-in-law, Doyle & Marcelle Broome. Many nieces, nephews, and friends also survive.

The graveside and interment service for Mr. Charles Harry Broome will be conducted on Tuesday May 4, 2010 at 12:00 noon at Polk Memory Gardens with Rev. Joel Smith officiating. Brewster Cleveland Post #86 honor guard will conduct full Military Rites.

The family will receive friends on Monday, May 3, 2010 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home.
