Obituary

Mr. Charles Delanda Harris, age 75, of Cedartown, Georgia passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at Redmond Medical Center after an extended illness. He was born November 14, 1933 in Talladega County, Alabama but lived most of his life in Cedartown.

He was a United States veteran having served in the Korean War; a member of the Rockmart American Legion Post. Mr. Harris was retired from Henkel Chemical Company after thirty-five and one-half years of service.

He is preceded in death by parents, George W. and Mattie A. Harris; brothers, Donald Harris, George W. "Jr." Harris, and Henry Cantrel Harris; sister, Hellen.

Mr. Charles Harris is survived by wife, Grace Brumit Harris to whom he was married fifty-one years; son, Chuck Delanda Harris and daughter-in-law, Angela Harris, all of Cedartown; granddaughter, Brittany Lane Harris of New York. Sister, Bobbie Santana and her husband, Paul of Tampa, Florida, Mattie Gioia of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; sister-in-law, Faye Harris of Montgomery, Alabama also survive. A number of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins are also surviving.

The funeral service for Mr. Charles Delanda Harris will be conducted on Saturday, March 7th at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home. The interment will follow in Polk Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 7th, from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at the Gammage Funeral Home.

The Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for Mr. Charles Delanda Harris.
