Mrs. Charlene Curtis Thompson, age 72, of Rockmart, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2023 surrounded by her family at home.  She was born on May 2, 1950 in Fredericksburg, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Roy Vantile Curtis and Betty Ann Legacy Payne.

Mrs. Thompson was retired from Wellstar Medical Center as a RN with over 30 years; she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.  She was an extraordinary woman who will be missed beyond words.

Mrs. Thompson is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Lowell Thompson; daughters, Josie Fowler (John) and Ruth Fowler (Dan); sister, Calene Curtis; brothers, Jay Thomas Wyne and Michael Lynn Payne; grandchildren, Kendra McGee (Corey), Eryn Fowler (Chris Moore), Kyla Fowler, Danielle Fowler, Breanna Fowler, Caleb Fowler, Thomas Fowler, Nathaniel Fowler, and J.J. Fowler; and great-grandchildren, Elijah Fowler and Phoenix Moore.

Mrs. Thompson is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Randal R. Curtis; and sister, Marlene Gallahan.

In keeping with Mrs. Thompson's wishes she was cremated.  A private family memorial service will be held.
