Mr. Cecil Harrison, Sr. age 93 of Cedartown, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2014. He was born on March 15, 1920 in Coffeeville, MS. He was the son of the late James Edd and Maude Byars Harrison.
Mr. Harrison is survived by his loving wife, Mary Evelyn Allen Harrison; daughters and son-in-laws, Deborah Harrison Edge and Russ and Donna Harrison Brown and Mike; sons and daughter-in-laws, Cecil "Buddy" Harrison, Jr. and Debbie and Gary Edward Harrison and Ethel; brother and sister-in-law, Elmo Harrison and Glenn; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Mr. Harrison is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mae Martin and brothers, Horace Harrison, Harvey Harrison, G.R. Harrison and Wilbur Harrison.
The funeral arrangements for Mr. Harrison will be conducted on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at two o'clock in the afternoon at the First Baptist Church of Cedartown with Dr. David Taylor and Rev. Wayne Benefield officiating. Interment will follow in the Northview Cemetery with full Military Rites conducted by the Brewster-Cleveland American Legion Honor Guard Post #86.
The family of Mr. Harrison will receive family and friends on Monday, February 24, 2014 from six o'clock in the evening until eight o'clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the funeral hour at the church.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; Bryan Edge, Jim Edge, Chad Ledbetter, Chuck Lantrell, Brian Tyraell and Terry Walls. Honorary pallbearers will be The Lawrence Class Sunday School Class.
