Mr. Cecil D. Oliver, age 74, of Cedartown, passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2011. He was born on January 9, 1937 in Cedartown; he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Tom and Marie Summerville Oliver.

Mr. Oliver was a retired operator of Shaw Industries.

Mr. Oliver is survived by his loving wife, Mrs. Martha Elizabeth Oliver; daughters and son-in-laws, Renee Bassett and husband John, Bonita Ross and Michelle Atkins and husband Jeff; son, Jeffery Oliver; sisters, Frances Robinson and Glenda Nettles; brother, Seals Oliver; eight grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Mr. Oliver is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Harvey Oliver, James Oliver, Tinger Oliver, Hurbert Oliver and Nelson Oliver.

The funeral service for Mr. Oliver will be conducted on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at eleven o'clock in the morning in the Chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Carroll, Rev. Jimmy Rampley and Rev. Thomas Wheeler officiating.

Interment will follow in the Northview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 29, 2011 from six o'clock in the evening until nine o'clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home.

The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers; Scott McDurmon, Chazz Weaver, Riley Atkins, Wayne Atkins, Charles Roberson and Neil Vinson.
