Mrs. Carolyn Joyce Lawler Smith, age 84 of Oakwood, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2014. She was born on January 11, 1930 Smyrna, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Rev. Clyde Raymond & Tressie McClung Lawler.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and William Douglas Waltman; son and daughter-in-law, Joseph Mark and Jane Raper Smith; grandchildren, Craig Michael Smith, Julie and Robert Boley, Brittany and Thomas Cape, Brian Douglas Waltman and Amy Carolyn Waltman; and great grandchildren, Logan Smith, Garrett Cape, Everly Boley and McKenna Cape.

Mrs. Smith is preceded in death by her husband, Roland Inmann Smith; parents; son, Randy Clyde Smith; brother, Jack Lawler; and sister, Marvine Lawler Wooten.

The funeral arrangements for Mrs. Smith will be conducted on Sunday, March 2nd at Three in the afternoon at Blackshear Place Baptist Church located in 3428 Atlanta Highway, Flowery Branch, Georgia, 30542 with Dr. Grady Sutton and Rev. Dave Channell officiating. Interment will follow in the State Line Cemetery in Cave Spring, Georgia.

The family of Mrs. Smith will receive family and friends on Saturday, March 1 from Six until Eight in the evening at Gammage Funeral Home.
