Ms. Carolyn Jarrell Bates, age 63, of Buchanan, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2011. She was born on January 15, 1947 in Cedartown, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Lee and Mary Frances Robinson Jarrell.

Ms. Bates is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Bates and sister, Pat Rios.

Ms. Bates is survived by daughter, Lynn Williams; son, Jeff Smith; sisters, Rhonda Agan, Geraldine Williams and Debbie Wiseman; brother, Bobby Jarrell; grandsons, Joshua Gilliam and Ty Williams; granddaughters, Blake Williams and Ashley Hopkins and one great-grandchild, Logan Bryant.

The funeral service for Ms. Bates will be conducted on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at one o'clock in the afternoon in the Chapel of the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Van Brown officiating.

Interment will follow in the Youngs Grove cemetery.

The family of Ms. Bates will receive friends on Saturday, January 15, 2011 from eleven o'clock in the morning until the funeral hour, at the Gammage Funeral Home.

The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers; Joshua Gilliam, Michael Cooper, Wesley Jarrell, Cory Simpson, Scottie Simpson and Mackey Agan.
