Mr. Buren Herbert Wheeler, age 94 of Cedartown, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2017. He was born on May 7, 1923 in Dallas, Georgia. He was the son of the late John Oliver Wheeler and Minnie Phillips Wheeler.
Mr. Wheeler was a United States WWII Veteran. He retired from Arrow Shirt Company in 1985; and was a deacon of Southside Baptist Church.
Mr. Wheeler is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Monique Wheeler; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Wheeler is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Ovelene B. Wheeler; second wife, Shirley Mae Maroney Wheeler; daughters, Patsy Bentley and Brenda Parr; five sisters and two brothers.
The funeral arrangements for Mr. Buren Herbert Wheeler will be conducted on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at three o'clock in the afternoon in the chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Rev. Joel A. Smith officiating.
Interment will follow in the Polk Memory Gardens Cemetery.
The family of Mr. Wheeler will receive family and friends on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 from one o'clock in the afternoon until the funeral hour at the Gammage Funeral Home.
The family has requested that flower donations be omitted.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Barry Bentley, Brian Bentley, Matt Bentley, Robert Leachman, Brandon Bentley and Blake Bentley. Honorary pallbearers will be The Southside Baptist Church Deacons.
