Mrs. Bonita Jo Sutton McCarson Hobbs, age 91 of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday April 9th 2025.
She was born March 5, 1934 In Rockmart Georgia, Polk County. She was the daughter of the late L.D. Sutton and Corine Sutton.
Mrs. Hobbs is survived by her daughters, Leigh Ann Adams (Kirk Adams), Dea Chandler (Jim Chandler), and Rae McCarson (David Groth); grandchildren, Tara Holcomb Doria, Christopher Correll (Kelsey Correll), Jessica Atkins (Brandon Atkins), Carson Ellis, Chad Chandler (Candace Chandler), Stephen Adams (Sierra), and Zella Vacaron; step- grandchildren, Gary Henderson (Lynda Henderson), Scott Henderson (Annette Henderson), Randy Hobbs ( Kathy Hobbs), Jason Henderson, and Amber Hobbs Surrett (Chad Surrett); and great grandchildren, Trey Henderson, Justin Henderson, Brooke Gokey, Breanna Williams, Trippe Hobbs, Cameron Thomas, Bayleigh Chandler, Landry Atkins, Gabriel Atkins, Jackson Doria, Lelan Hobbs, and Christopher Garrett (Bear) Correll.
Mrs. Hobbs is preceded in death by her husband, Delmer Hobbs; parents, L.D. and Corine Sutton; sister, Odelle Sutton; son, John Ralph (Mac) McCarson, III; and stepchildren, Rita Henderson, Randy Hobbs and Roger Hobbs.
Mrs. Hobbs graduated from Rockmart High School in 1952. She went on to secretary school for one year in Atlanta, Georgia. She soon started her life as a mother in Cedartown, Georgia where she married John Ralph McCarson Jr. and had 4 children.
Later Mrs. Hobbs remarried to Delmer Hobbs her husband of 37 years and helped run their store Hobbs TV where her secretarial skills came in handy. They owned and operated Hobbs TV for many years until Mrs. Hobbs decided she was ready to have her own in-home day care. She was known throughout Cedartown for her excellence in caring for each and every child who came through her home. She was loved by many.
The funeral arrangements for Mrs. Hobbs will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025 at three thirty in the afternoon in the chapel of Gammage Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Benefield officiating. Martin West will sing "I'll Fly Away".
The family of Mrs. Hobbs will receive family and friends on Friday, April 25, 2025 from two o'clock in the afternoon until the funeral hour at the Gammage Funeral Home.
