Mrs. Blanche Edwards, age 77 of Cedartown, Georgia passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2014. She was born on August 30, 1937 in Summerville, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Clarence Hollander and Mrs. Mary Louise Hollander. She was a faithful member of the 2nd Baptist Church where she played the piano and taught Sunday School for many years. She worked as a teacher for Chattooga County Schools until relocating to Cedartown in 1966. She then worked at, and later retired from, C&S Bank (formerly Commercial National Bank).
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dan Edwards; two daughters, Danna Foster and Jill Wright; and sister, Geraldine "Jerri" Wesson. Survivors include her daughter, Jennifer "Jenny" Edwards; one brother, Loray "Bud" Byars; five grandsons, Matt Foster, Joey Wright, Jeremy Wright, Zach Foster, and Justin Wright; a number of nieces, nephews, and extended family also survive.
The funeral service for Mrs. Blanche Edwards will be conducted on Sunday, September 21, 2014 at two o'clock in the afternoon in the sanctuary of the Second Baptist Church of Cedartown with Dr. Larry Conner and Dr. Bill Heaton officiating. Mrs. Edwards will lie in state for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery.
The Edwards family will receive family and friends on Saturday, September 20, 2014 from six o'clock until eight o'clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home.
The following men will serve as pallbearers, JP Foster, Matt Foster, Zach Foster, Jeremy Wright, Joey Wright, and Justin Wright. The members of the "Willing Workers" Sunday School Class of Second Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers
