Mr. Billy Wayne Welchel, Sr. age 59, of Cedartown passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2012. He was born May 21, 1953 in Polk County, the son of the late James and Clara Lee Welchel.

In addition to his parents Mr. Welchel is preceded in death by brother, James Ray Welchel, Sr.

Mr. Billy Welchel is survived by wife, Clarice McGatha Welchel; son and daughter-in-law, Billy Welchel, Jr. and Stephanie Welchel; Daughter and Son-in-law, Donna Pyles and Jesse Pyles; Daughter, Charlotte Welchel; 7 Grandchildren, 1 Great-Grandchild; Brother, Lewis Welchel.

The funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, October 21st at 2:00 p.m. at Valley View Church with Rev. Joey Martin and Mr. Billy Welchel, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Sanders Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Welchel's residence, 789 McKibben Rd., Buchanan, where Mr. Welchel will lie-in-state until Sunday. At that time he will be taken to the church for the funeral service.

Pallbearers are Jesse Pyles, James Pyles, Wayne Brown, Randal Shumake, Dalton Welchel, Glen Farrister, and Mike Gable.

Honorary pallbearers are Jackie Ledford, Chad Shumake, Gage Armstrong, Cooper Armstrong.
