Mr. Billy Charles Phillips, age 71, of Cedartown, Georgia passed away on Friday, August 13, 2010. He was born in Jacksonville, Alabama on August 13, 1939, son of the late James Orbin and Gwendolyn Monteen Rogers Phillips.

Mr. Billy Charles Phillips worked at General Motors for many years.

Mr. Billy Charles Phillips is survived by his wife of fifty years, Joann Phillips; daughter and son in-law, Donna and Michael Douglas; sisters, Sue Shaw and husband, Wayne, Catherine McFry and husband, Frank, Mary Jo Phillips, Martha Jean Owens and husband, Jerry and Sharon Anthony, brothers, Nathaniel Phillips and wife, Anita, Doug Phillips and wife, Linda and Jerry Phillips and wife, Mary; grandson, John Alexander Hancock, two great-grandsons and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Billy Charles Phillips is preceded in death by parents, James Orbin and Gwendolyn Monteen Rogers Phillips, brother, William Earl Phillips and grandson, Sgt. William Elliott Allmon, passed away on April 12, 2008 while severing our country in Iraq.

The funeral service for Mr. Billy Charles Phillips will be conducted on Sunday, August 15, 2010 at four o'clock in the afternoon at the Chapel of the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Wendell Studdard officiating.

The family of Mr. Billy Charles Phillips will receive friends on Saturday, August 14, 2010 from 6pm-8pm at the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home.

Interment will follow in the Polk Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Donnie Bridges, Anthony Bridges, John Alexander Hancock, Michael Douglas, Johnny Nelson and Nathaniel Phillips.
