Mr. Billy D. Holbrooks, age 80, of Rockmart, passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2011. He was born on August 26, 1930 in Polk County, Georgia.

Mr. Holbrooks is survived by his brother, Benny Holbrooks of Florence, South Carolina.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Margie Owens Holbrooks; parents, Clifford H. Holbrooks, Sr. and Mautille Broadaway Holbrooks; sisters, Avanell Duke and Kathryn Williams; and brother, C.H. "Boe" Holbrooks, Jr.

The funeral service for Mr. Billy Holbrooks will be conducted on Monday, March 7, 2011 at eleven o'clock in the morning at Youngs Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Barry McCullough and Rev. Blake Dodd officiating, with Eulogies by Donya Lester Gowin and B.W. "Burt" Owens, and graveside by Rev. Billy Frasier.
Interment will follow in Northview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 6, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Gammage Funeral Home. The body will also lie in state for 1 hour prior to the funeral service at Youngs Grove Baptist Church.

The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers; David Frasier, Charles Knight, West Newton, Jerome Heath, Cliff Williams, Phil Graham, and Shane Smith. Honorary pallbearers are the Youngs Grove Baptist Church Senior Adult Sunday School Class.

The family request that flowers be omitted and that any donations be made to Margie Holbrooks Student Worship Center, P.O. Box 1638, Cedartown, Georgia, 30125.
