Obituary

Mr. Billy Mac Godfrey, age 80, passed away on Friday, April 04, 2014. He was born on September 3, 1933 in Bartow County. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. M.H. and Kathryn Martin Godfrey.

Mr. Godfrey had been a member of Collard Valley Baptist Church since 1947. Mr. Godfrey and his wife, Geraldine "Dink" Wilkerson Godfrey were farmers in the Collard Valley Community for 50 years. Mr. Godfrey retired from Rome Plow Company after 35 years of service.

Mr. Godfrey is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Gere and Randy Blankinship, Jane and Ricky Sorrells and Judy and Ronnie Barrs; special niece, Tracy Godfrey Wallace (John); eight grandchildren, Stacy Blankinship Shiflett (Chris), Candice Blankinship Garcia (Pete), Jordan Sorrells Anderson (Rege), Benjamin Moore, Chessie Caitlyn Moore, Nettie Kathryne Moore, Haley Lyn Barrs and Heidi Marie Barrs; special great-niece, Hillary Lord; six great-grandchildren, Caleb Shiflett, Luke Shiflett, Sara Garcia, Maggie Garcia, Grace Anderson and Seabie Cone; sister-in-laws, Glenda Wilkerson Roy and Georgia Wilkerson Cobb; special cousins, Sammie and Marie King and several nieces, nephews and other cousins also survive.

Mr. Godfrey is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Geraldine "Dink" Wilkerson Godfrey; son-in-law, Seaborn Eugene Moore and two brothers.

The funeral arrangements for Mr. Godfrey will be conducted on Sunday, April 6, 2014 at three o'clock in the afternoon in the Gammage Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dave Grove officiating. Interment will follow in the Polk Memory Gardens Cemetery.

The family of Mr. Godfrey will receive family and friends on Sunday, April 6, 2014 from two o'clock in the afternoon until the funeral hour at the Gammage Funeral Home.

The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers; Benjamin Moore, Pete Garcia, Chris Shiflett, Rege Anderson, Luke Shiflett and Caleb Shiflett.

Flowers are being omitted; however, memorial donations can be made to the Collard Valley Baptist Church, 65 Collard Valley Church Loop, Cedartown, GA 30125.
