Mrs. Betty A. Neelley, age 81, of Rome, Georgia passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2009. She was born February 12, 1927 in Comer, GA, the daughter of the late Lillian Carithers Patten and James Patten.

She graduated from Girls High in Atlanta Georgia at the age of 16 in 1943. She was the office manager at W.G. Bruner Oil Company in Cedartown for 30 years.

Mrs. Neelley is preceded in death by her parents; husband, John William Neelley; and a daughter, Doris Neelley.

Mrs. Neelley is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Roland Jordan; Three Grandchildren, Kelly and Brad Dennis, Jason and Molly Jordan, and Jenean and Chad Prater; and Three Great Grandchildren, Tyler Dennis, Lily Kate Prater, and Caroline Jordan. Mrs. Neelley is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 15th, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Olin L. Gammage & Sons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the Meadow Baptist Church in Comer, GA on Monday, March 16th, 2009 from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.

The funeral service for Mrs. Neelley will be conducted on Monday, March 16th, 2009 following the visitation at 1:00 p.m. at the Meadow Baptist Church in Comer, GA with Rev. Wayne Benefield officiating.

Interment will follow in the Meadow Baptist Church Cemetery.
