Mrs. Betty Jaynes Murphy, age 76, of Loganville, passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2008. Mrs. Murphy was born in Columbus, Georgia.

A school teacher for more than 25 years, she was known as a very caring and independent woman that loved her family and dogs.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Olin Murphy.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Jayne and Terry Hutchins of Loganville; daughter, Peggy Murphy of Bend, Oregon; son, Jim Murphy of Atlanta; grandchildren, Stacey Hutchins, Kelly Patton and husband, David; great-grandchild, Taylor Patton.

A graveside servide will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at New Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery, Buchanan, GA with Rev. Wayne Benefield officiating.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Mrs. Murphy's memory to the United Methodist Children's Home, 500 South Columbia Dr., Decatur, GA 30030 or a local animal shelter.

Visitation with the family will be held Monday, October 20, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Eternal Hills Funeral Home, Hwy 78 in Snellville, GA.
