Obituary

Ms. Betty Virginia Crabb Ledford, age 82, of Cedartown, passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at her residence at Cedar Hill Senior Living Center. She was born on April 27, 1933 in Polk County. She was the daughter of the late William Acy "Dee" Crabb and Loomas Williams Crabb.

Ms. Ledford had lived her entire life in Polk County. She retired from Redmond Park Hospital and was a member of the Cedartown Church of God.

Ms. Ledford is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Rex L. and Constance "Connie" Z. Ledford; grandchildren, David Andrew Ledford, Mari Lea Smith, Khristie Lee Gilleland (Bob) and Kacie Nicole Glenn (Jeremy); grandson-in-law, Melvin C. Ellison; great-grandchildren, Ashley Lyles Shepherd (Cody), Stormy Floyd, Amanda Gilleland, Gracie Gilleland, Charlie Ellison, Emmie Ellison, Angel Green, Gavin Glenn, Brenlee Gilleland and Evie Ellison; great-great-granddaughter, Emersyn Shepherd; sisters, Mary Jo Crabb McCollum, Annie Laura Crabb Hardin, Joan CrabbWilson (Herbert), Margaret Crabb Barber (Paul) and Marie Crabb Rudeseal (Mike); sister-in-laws, Brenda Ledford White (Gerald), Joyce Tillery Ledford and Dathnia Benefield Ledford and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Ms. Ledford is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 61 years, Glenn L. Ledford; daughter, Glenna Ledford Witherell; brothers, Rev. James O. Crabb, Harold H. Crabb, Charles W. Crabb and Wilard Eugene "Gene" Crabb and sisters, Ruth Crabb, Frances Crabb Yarbrough and Alice Crabb Wilson.

The funeral arrangements for Ms. Betty Virginia Crabb Ledford will be conducted on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at two o'clock in the afternoon in the Chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Pastor Terry Addis and Minister Bill Brinkley officiating. Eulogy given by Betty Coffman-Kuykendall. Interment will follow in the Polk Memory Gardens Cemetery.

The family of Ms. Ledford will receive family and friends on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 from six o'clock in the evening until eight o'clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home.

Ms. Ledford's nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Ms. Ledford's family has respectfully requested that flowers be omitted and memorial donations can be made to the North Rome Church of God, Emmanuel Farms Widows Ministry, 1929 Broad Street, Rome, GA 30161.
