Betty Cantrell Barrett, 77, of Sunset Beach, NC, formerly of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away on Monday May 19, 2014.

Mrs. Barrett was born in Polk County, Georgia on February 14, 1937 and was the daughter of the late Henry Albert and Edna Agan Cantrell. She was also preceded in death by a son, Trey Barrett. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Shallotte.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Ed Barrett; daughter, Susan Barrett Brown and husband Jerry of Ocean Isle Beach; two grandchildren, Lindsey Brown Whelan and husband Jeremy and Trey Brown; two great grandchildren, Jered Whelan and Jacob Whelan and sister, Jean Clark and husband Marion of McDonough, Georgia.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday May 21, 2014 at 5pm at First Baptist Church, Shallotte with Pastor Bob Weathers officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
