Mrs. Betty Atkins, age 72, of Dallas, passed away on Tuesday, February 5, 2008. She was born July 30, 1935 in Cedartown, Georgia. Mrs. Atkins was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Deval Ray and Cornelia Tillery Ray, daughter, Frieda Atkins Wills, one sister and three brothers. She retired as a nurse for the Medical Arts Hospital, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dallas.

Survivors include her husband, Herman L. Atkins of Dallas; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy Hoptroff and husband, Mark, of Dallas; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley Liner and husband, Leland of Maumee, Ohio; grandson, Jeffrey Hoptroff; one aunt; two uncles; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. from Clark Funeral Home, with Dr. Gregg Potts, Tillie Davis, and Mr. Randy Atkins officiating. Interment will follow in Paulding Memorial Gardens. Billy Ray, Buck Atkins, Dennis Stewart, James Bell, Randy Atkins, and Bud East will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
