Mr. Benjamin Leith Hudson, Sr. age 87 of Cedartown, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2015. He was born on May 23, 1927 in Miami, Florida. He was the son of the late William Douglas Hudson and Lois Hitt Hudson.
Mr. Hudson was a World War II veteran and also a member of the American Legion. He retired from Rome Plow as a draftsman and Goodyear as a field representative designer. Mr. Hudson was the Farmer of the Year in 2008. He graduated from Clarkston High School where he was an active member of the 4-H Club. He then graduated from the University of Georgia with an engineering degree.
Mr. Hudson is survived by his wife, Barbara W. Hudson; sons, Benjamin Leith Hudson, Jr. and James H. Hudson; daughter-in-law, Debra Jean; four grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
The funeral arrangements for Mr. Hudson will be conducted on Friday, April 17, 2015 at one o'clock in the afternoon in the chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Dr. David Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the Floyd Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Rome, Georgia with Full Military Rites conducted by the Brewster-Cleveland American Legion Honor Guard Post # 86.
The family of Mr. Hudson will receive family and friends on Friday, April 17, 2015 from eleven o'clock in the morning until the funeral hour at the Gammage Funeral Home.
Flowers are to be omitted; however, memorial donations can be made to the First Baptist Church Memorial Fund- 101 North College Street, Cedartown, GA 30125.
