Dr. Barry Wayne Boatner, age 61, of Cedartown, Georgia passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2007. He was born November 6, 1945 in Ft. Payne, Alabama, son of Rev. John William Boatner and Mrs. Catherine Paulene Sharp Boatner.
He was a United States Navy veteran serving in the Vietnam Conflict.
Dr. Barry Boatner is preceded in death by wife, Mrs. Shelia Gladden Boatner and his parents and brothers, Billy Boatner, Rev. Glen Boatner, and Gerald Boatner.
Dr. Barry Wayne Boatner is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Vanessa Sha' and Jerome Heath; son and daughter-in-law, Eric William and Carissa Boatner; sisters, Mary Ellen Worley, Jackie Revels; brother-in-law, Gerald Worley. Four granddaughters, Krisha Rayne Heath, Shaley Maureen Heath, Madison Jade Heath, and Erica Lee Boatner also survive.
The funeral service for Dr. Barry Wayne Boatner will be conducted on Friday, November 2, at 2:00 p.m. at the New Hope Fellowship with Dr. Steve Fetkenhour, Rev. Randall M. Jones and Rev. Blake H. Dodd officiating. The interment will follow at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with full military rites being conducted by The American Legion Brewster-Cleveland Post #86 Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 1, from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Gammage Funeral Home.
