Mrs. Barbara Jean Lefevers Arrington, Age 66, of 64 Kimwood Drive, Cedartown, passed away Wednesday afternoon, January 26, 2005. Mrs. Arrington was born in Waco, Texas on June 14, 1938. She was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church, the Willing Workers' Sunday School Class, and the WMU.
Mrs. Arrington was preceded in death by her parents, Zegie and Mamie Wilkerson Lefevers, and a Brother, Harvey Ray Lefevers.
Surviving are her husband, Bobby Arrington; daughter, Patti Lynn Arrington both of Cedartown; Sons, Craig Arrington of Los Angeles, California and Brent Arrington of Tucker and his wife Rossana Rimando-Arrington.
Also surviving are her sisters, and their spouses, Kathryn Ellis, of Dalton; Wanda and Fred Giles of Cedartown; Fannie Lefevers of Cedartown; Marie and Sammie King of Cedartown; Gere and Hershal Arrington of Rome; and Dorothy and Buford May also of Cedartown. A number of Nieces, Nephews, Great-Nieces, and Great-Nephews also survive.
Flowers will be accepted, but those wishing to do so may make donations in her memory to their favorite charity or to the New Harmony Baptist Church building fund.
Barbara was the pianist at New Harmony for many years, and she sang in a trio with her sisters. She worked at Cherokee Elementary School for 19 years as a teacher's assistant.
The family will receive friends Friday, January 28th from 6 until 9pm at Gammage Funeral Home in Cedartown.
Due to weather Mrs. Arrington's Funeral Service has been changed until 2pm on Sunday, January 30th at New Harmony Baptist Church on Prior Station Road in Cedartown, with the Dr. DeWayne New and Mr. Frank Wright officiating. Interment will follow at Polk Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers are her nephews: Kevin Ellis, Freddie Giles, David Lefevers, Johnny Lefevers, Michael Lefevers, and Randy King.
