Obituary

Annie Ruth Stroup (Cookie), age 88, of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away peacefully and was called to her heavenly home on Thursday, August 27th, 2026.

Miss Annie Ruth Stroup retired from Liberty Mutual after 35 years. She dedicated her life to the Lord at a young age, enjoyed spending time at her childhood church, Southside Baptist, and listening to The Gaithers. Although Cookie did not have children of her own, she deeply loved her nephews and nieces: Chris, Buddy, Bobbie, Merri, as well as Chaynne, Hunter, Josi, Rye, and Tory. But the greatest loves of her life were Ranger and Taylor Crenshaw and baby-to-be Gunner Stroup.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Alice Shackleford Stroup; sister-in-law, the late Linda Brown; as well as several uncles, aunts and friends.

She is survived by her brother, Jerry Lee Ross Stroup; nephews and their wives, Chris and Bobbie Stroup, Buddy and Merri McKibben, great-nieces and nephews, Cheynne (Rye), Josi McKibben, Hunter (Tory) Stroup; and three very special great-great nieces and nephews; Ranger Crenshaw, Taylor Crenshaw and baby-to-be Gunner Stroup, along with numerous cousins and friends.
