Obituary

Mrs. Anna Katherine Hunt Moody, age 96, of Cedartown passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2006. She was born on September 20, 1910 in Cedartown.

Katherine joined the First Baptist Church, Cedartown on June 6, 1921 and was probably the oldest continuous member (over 85 years.) She served as librarian for the church for many years.

She taught in the Polk County Schools the first few years after graduating, and then became possibly the best known first grade teacher in the history of the Cedartown Public Schools, teaching twenty-five percent of all first graders for over 35 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James Walter Hunt and Lilly Belle Ramsey Hunt.

Mrs. Moody is survived by her husband of 69 years, B.L. Moody; sister, Rachel Hunt Rice; sons and daughters-in-law, James Robert Moody and Noor Elizabeth Holt Moody and David Hunt Moody and Mary Gibbs Moody. Also surviving are grandchildren, Katherine Elizabeth Moody Raffety, Leah Holt Moody Hubbard, James Robert Moody, Jr., David Hunt Moody, Jr., Bryann Leslie Moody Adair, David Michael Moody and Jennifer Lee Moody Ruef; great grandchildren, Emily Katherine Raffety Geremia, Kaley Elizabeth Raffety, Zakkary Robert Adair, Joshuah Alden Brent Adair, Jeremia Kyle Adair, Aneurin Francis Clark Moody, Jennes Holt Moody, Ruby Katherine Moody Clark, Edison Gregory Reuf and Elijah James Moody and great great grandchildren, Dillan Matthew Geremia and Avery James Geremia

The memorial celebration for Mrs. Moody will be conducted on Saturday, December 16th at eleven o'clock in the morning in the Chapel of First Baptist Church with Dr. David Taylor, Rev. Clint Kimbrough and Rev. Wayne Benefield officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall at First Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends from 6:00p.m. until 9:00p.m. on Friday, December 15th at Gammage Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the Moody family suggests a donation may be made to the First Baptist Church, c/o Library Fund, 101 N. College Street, Cedartown, Georgia 30125.

The Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Anna Katherine Hunt Moody.
