Ann Norman White's Obituary
Ann Norman White, age 90, of Cedartown, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2016. She was born on October 24, 1925 in Colquitt County, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late James Bryant Norman and Lossie Maxwell Norman.
She wore many hats; scholar, musician, wife, mother, church lady, business woman, friend, gardener, civic volunteer and brownie baker.
She was the past Regent of the William Witcher chapter, DAR; member of the Polk County Historical Society; member of the Cedartown Historical Preservation Commission; recipient of the "Golden Book of Deeds" from the Cedartown Exchange Club and a member of The First Baptist Church of Cedartown for over 66 years and was involved in the choir and many of the church activities.
Mrs. White is survived by her daughter and son in law, Catherine W. Dohrmann and David; son and daughter-in-law, William G. White and Dana; grandchildren, Kendall Ginn Motes (Adam), Mary Claire Ginn, Karen Dohrmann Pruitt (Steve), Michael Dohrmann, Sylvia Miller Dohrmann, Bill White (Katie), John White (Jessica), Jason Harrison (Amanda), Jeremy Harrison (Teddie), Ivey Harrison and 11 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. White is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edgar Glenn White; sister, Winona Powell; brothers, James Bryant Norman, Jr., Lloyd Norman, David Norman, Gene Norman, and grandson, Thomas Dohrmann.
The funeral arrangements for Ann Norman White will be conducted on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at one o'clock in the afternoon at The First Baptist Church of Cedartown with Rev. Wayne Benefield officiating.
The family of Mrs. White will receive family and friends on Thursday, May 26, 2016 after 4pm at 497 Mount Alto Road, Rome, Georgia.
Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers: Bill White, John White, Michael Dohrmann, Steve Pruitt, Adam Motes and Jeremy Harrison.
In lieu of flowers the family has respectfully requested that donations can be made to the following: Cedartown Historical Society, 205 North College Street, Cedartown, Georgia 30125, First Baptist Church Choir, 101 North College Street, Cedartown, Georgia 30125 or Heyman Hospice of Floyd, PO Box 163, Rome, Georgia 30162.
