Mrs. Angela Sheryl Holland Bentley, age 73, of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2020. She was born on November 29, 1946 in Rome, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late James Harrison and Ruby Alice Moncrief Holland, Sr.
Angela was raised in the Goodyear Village in Cedartown. She made a lot of friends during that time that she kept her whole life. She graduated from Cedartown High School in 1965. Then attended Crawford W Long hospital in Atlanta where she graduated in 1967 with a Technician degree. She married Larry on September 9, 1967. Later they had two children Alicia and Jason.
She worked at Dr. Richard Campbell's office in Cedartown. She worked several other places before getting her job at Polk General Hospital in the Radiology Department. Angela was over the Radiology Department for several years. She worked at Polk General Hospital for a total of 27 years. Angela loves to cook for her family and friends. Angela and her cousin Sherry worked together as a catering service. They did this for several years. They have catered a lot of different events over the years. Later she attended Georgia Northwestern Technical College where she got her degree in Medical Coding. She worked from home doing this kind of work for several years.
Angela loved spending time with her family and friends. She loved spoiling her two granddaughters that she thought the world of. She had a great grandson, Graeson, which was the light of her life. Angela enjoyed doing crafts, cooking, shopping, and reading magazines. She also enjoyed taking trips to the Smokey Mountains with her family. She spent a lot of her free time volunteering at Northside and Youngs Grove Elementary and Lundy Christian Academy, as well as at the Polk County Historical Society and the Cedartown Auditorium. Angela worked on the Polk County Tax Accessors Board. She was an active member at the Cedartown Church of Christ. She loved her church family dearly.
Mrs. Bentley is survived by her husband, Larry Bentley; daughter, Alicia B. Lewis (Billy Joe); granddaughters, Lexie Lewis (Giovani Garcia) and Aubree Lewis (Jay Jones); and great-grandson, Graeson Garcia.
Mrs. Bentley is preceded in death by her parents; son, Stephen "Jason" Bentley and brother, James Harrison "Jimmy" Holland, Jr.
A private service for Mrs. Angela Sheryl Holland Bentley will be held at a later date. A public celebration of life will be announced at a later time. Floral arrangements, food, gifts, etc. may be taken to 837 N. College Drive, Cedartown, GA 30125 also charitable donations can be made to Cedartown Church of Christ, 326 East Avenue, Cedartown, GA 30125.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Spencer Lundy, Will Lundy, Lee Lundy, Shannon Bentley, Matt Bentley, Terry Sensing, and Bill Garmon.
