Mrs. Alta Lee Lovegren, age 91, of Franklin, Tennessee, formerly of Cedartown, Georgia, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 14, 2014. She was born on November 17, 1922 in Cedartown. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Paul Grimes and Mrs. Martha Cordelia Green Grimes.
She was married to Dr. L. August Lovegren, currently living in Franklin, Tennessee, on May 15, 1951. They served more than 35 years with the Foreign Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention in the Middle East.
Mrs. Lovegren is survived by her loving husband; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and David Rowland and Miriam and Homer Lanier and seven grandchildren, Bethany Lanier, Leigh Ann Lanier, David Lanier, Lilly Rowland, John Rowland, Paul Rowland and Mark Rowland.
Mrs. Lovegren is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Travis Haney and Jimmie Haney and brother, B. Paul Grimes.
The funeral arrangements for Mrs. Lovegren will be conducted on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at two o'clock in the afternoon at the First Baptist Church of Cedartown with Dr. David Taylor, Rev. Wayne Benefield and Rev. James Craigmyle officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery.
The family of Mrs. Lovegren will receive family and friends on Saturday, January 18, 2014 from 12:30 pm until the funeral hour at the First Baptist Church.
