Mrs. Allie Mabel Garmon Pope, age 96 of Cedartown, passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2018. She was born on June 23, 1921 in Bluffton, Alabama. She was the daughter of the late Clifton Russell and Electa Mabel Peek Garmon.
At an early age, her mother taught her to play the piano. After her mother's passing at age thirteen Allie continued and became a great pianist.
Mrs. Pope is survived by her sister Alma Garmon Jackson (Howard); sister-in-law, Jeanette Knight Garmon; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
Mrs. Pope is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hershel Pope; brothers, Carl Garmon, Clinton Garmon (Izora), Herman Garmon (Annie Lee), Fay Garmon (Ann), Chester Garmon; and her sister Ellie Garmon Voyles (George).
The funeral arrangements for Mrs. Allie Mabel Garmon Pope will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at three o'clock in the afternoon in the chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Mr. Don Garmon officiating.
Interment will follow in the Union Grove Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family of Mrs. Pope will receive family and friends on Saturday, February 24, 2018 from two o'clock in the afternoon until the funeral hour at the Gammage Funeral Home.
