Mr. Wilburn Lee Brown, Sr., age 81, of Cedartown passed away on Wednesday, August 1, 2012. He was born March 30, 1931 in Wilcox County, Georgia, the son of the late Leon Brown and Ella Gibbs Brown Warren. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by a brother, Leo Brown.
Mr. Brown began his career after graduating with a Doctorate in Pharmacy from Mercer University School of Pharmacy. His first job was at Moore’s Pharmacy and realized that he had love for the Polk County and Cedartown communities. He then opened and operated his own businesses, Brown’s Ambulance Service and Brown’s Pharmacy where he continued his lifelong passion. The Pharmacy became a hub for Wilburn and friends to drink their morning coffee and solve the “world’s problems” at the “round table”. It is difficult to express how much admiration, respect, and love his friends have for Wilburn and his family.
Mr. Brown also served his community as a Commissioner for the City of Cedartown for several years. He was a supporter of numerous civic organizations for Cedartown and the Polk County area. He was a member of The First Baptist Church of Cedartown.
